The book is designed both to introduce the analytical philosophy of history to non-specialist readers and also to make an individual contribution to the subject. Although the content is intentionally not elementary, the treatment does not presuppose any technical knowledge of philosophy. The aim is to demonstrate that the philosophy of history can be made accessible to the general reader as well as to students of philosophy and history.
