Practical Handbook of Computerization for Distribution Managers
What can a computer do for you? Provided you're not fussy about the time, effort or cost involved, just about anything you want it to do, up to and including (with the aid of robot-like servomechanisms) putting out the cat at night. If, however, you do care about how much time, effort and money you invest (and what good business manager doesn't?), the list of practical applications narrows considerably. The machine can still do a great many tasks, but regarded in this light it's scarcely a panacea for every managerial problem. The day when those cartoon images of computers instead of people occupying managerial desks becomes a reality is still far into the future (if indeed it will ever arrive).
