Letters of St. Louise de Marillac
The writings of St. Louise de Marillac have been a treasure of the daughters of charity which they have guarded with a certain modesty. Recently she has become much more widely recognized in the christian and even is the secular world. Special attention was focused on her life and character during the year 1960, which marked the tercentenary of the death of both St. Louise (March 15) and St. Vincent de Paul (September 27). During that year Pope John XXIII wrote a special Apostolic Letter about these two companion saints, and he further declared St. Louise to be Patroness of social workers.
