Martin Luther King, Jr: Civil Rights Leader, Theologian, Orator (Vol.III)
Martin Luther King meant many different things to the millions of people who remember him, and who feel that the quality of their lives somehow bears the impress of his own, for better or worse. To some he was a saint, to others a seer, to others a pastor, a high priest or a prophet. To some he was a statesman and philosopher; to others he was a covert politician. To more than a few, above all else, he was an intruder an alien; a man out of time, out of character, out of harmony with prevailing sentiment; outside the bounds of convention, and unrecognized and unaccepted by any of those whose circle of leadership and power he was to challenge to breach and to some degree to redirect.
