Medical Ethics

When the history of contemporary moral theology comes to be written, the name of Bernard Haring, CSSR, will occupy a prominent place. His work has made a great impact on moral theology, and he is well-known for his identification with many of the Vatican II concilliar views and for his remarkable capacity for keeping abreast of developments in a wide range of disciplines. This book is a careful and concise study of the main issues in medical ethics today: life, death, contraception, abortion, artificial insemination, sterilisation, prolongation of life, euthanasia, drugs, pychoteraphy, experimentation with human beings. Not only is it an impressive work of scholarship but if is very topical and readable: it is a book that deserves to be widely read by doctors, nurses, priests and indeed by all mature reflecting Christians and others.
