Groups in Process: An introduction to small group communication
Welcome in the third edition of Groups in Process. As we noted in the prefaces to previous editions, this is a book about small group communication written by a small group. Our basic premise in writing the book was that a group should be able to produce a more complete, relevant and accurate manuscript than any one of us could write alone. Each successive edition has seen additions to and deletions from the group writing effort. Because of the untimely death of Bob Kibler, our friend and colleague, the second edition could not benefit from his wisdom and humor. However, the contributions Bob made to the field of speech communication and the first edition of this text will carry on through all future editions. Don Cegala, because of increased professional commitments, elected not to participate in this revision. Of course, his contributions to previous editions will remain throughout this and future revisions.
