Morality is for Persons: The Ethics of Christian Personalism
The uniqueness of the individual, his capacity to discern and reciprocate genuine love, and his need for greater maturity are the chief themes examined by Bernard Haring, noted moral theologian, in his new book on Christian personalism. He points out that the central message of revelation, God is Love compels the theologian to adopt a personalistic and existential attitude. He feels that he great error of our age has been the failure of professional moralists to stress this message instead of their static and legalistic approach to morals. The traditional attitude has contributed in no small degree to a widely felt moral malaise and to a growing confusion over moral questions.
