Rights in God's Church is the first of three books in which Rosmini applies to specific societies the universal principles of social right unfolded in volume 3 of The Philosophy of Right. The three great societies upon which mankind depends for its existence and development are: the Church of God (where theocracy -in its etymological meaning- holds sway), the family and civil society. To each of these, Rosmini devotes an entire treatise.
