This book has been written for all those who must bear the burden of the many and radical changes in religious education-teachers in the classroom, parents in the after-school hours. The aim of the author has been to investigate the why and the wherefore of the changing patterns in religious instruction. He surveys the changes that have already taken place, goes on to give a historical perspective of the growth, decline and renewal of the ministry of teaching religion, and concludes by giving an answer to the very practical question 'How is the renewal of catechetics being brought about?'
