The belief that persons are of unique worth has long been of central importance to Christian faith and action. This book explores the principal aspects of that worth and the possibilities it opens up for grounding a system of ethics in harmony with Christian beliefs. Although much misused in the process, 'love' has always been the important symbols in Christian moral reflection. When understood as the appropriate response to personal worth, it is able to regain its proper place in the believer's moral life.
