Being Sexual and Celibate
Part of the reason celibacy seems so irrelevant to many people, writes Keith Clark. is that often there is insufficient recognition of the relationship between the committed celibate life and the whole human experience of intimacy and relationships. As a result the connection between celibacy and sexuality is almost completely ignored. This, then, is what Being Sexual... and Celibate is all about – the connection between sexuality and celibacy. It is also about intimacy and loneliness, relationships, love - human and divine - and about prayer. His is not a heady, theoretical approach, it is personal, experiential, reflective. l have travelled the path of celibate commitment within religious life, it is along this path that l feel same comfort in leading others in further reflections an being sexual.
