The Inner Loneliness
The author introduces The Inner Loneliness in the way: The inner loneliness arises out of a paradox: that that in us which impels us to form relationship is, it seems, destined to be forever lonely. For this which impels me to form relationships and to embark on every other creative enterprise is the sense of myself as special, unique and without price; but no one can be present to me as I am thus present to myself. So there is a loneliness in each person that no other person can relieve.
