In this book, the authors have stated a value theory that can guide a teacher and have described a process and specific instructional strategies which implement the theory. The illustrations are concrete examples of how a teacher may cultivate pupil skill in the process of valuing. However, the assumption is clear throughout the book, that the process is a creative one in which each teacher formulates the actions that he deems appropriate at each moment. This description of a theory and practices of one instructional role will be helpful and provocative to any teacher who conceives his function to be assisting students to develop skill in valuing and questing.
