This book was written at the request of priests who are faced with the task of forming their own groups of lay catechists for parish work. I think of it as providing a text for group study at regular meetings of priests and catechists. It may also be useful to teachers in Catholic schools who are anxious to refresh their teaching with the insights of catechetical movement; to parents; and to adult Catholics generally.
