This book explores the stories the folks tell when they gather to break the bread. As Christians we have inherited ancient stories that carry the faith convictions of our people Although these stories may start with 'long ago' they and with 'right now'. There is an enduring world-creating ability to the stories of God. This book hopes to enter into some of those possible worlds. Although this book relies on scholarship, it is not a scholarly work. Although in places it summarizes, it is not a popular summary. It is a book about understanding the stories of God so that when we tell them, they will be 'sufficient'.
