Having left a sweet home life to dedicate himself to the Foreign Missions, Theophane eventually left his beloved France to spread the Faith in the Orient. Danger, hiding, and imprisonment were to be his lot there, but he did much good by his cheerful attitude and kindly manners. St. Therese of Lisieux had a special devotion to him.
