Infallible Fallacies: An Anglican Reply to Roman Catholic Arguments

In his presidential address at the meeting of the Convocation of Canterbury 14 October 1953 the primate of all England said: I would mention a booklet published, this week, by S.P.C.K entitled Infallible Fallacies.... We, of the Anglican Communion, have been taught by God through the circumstance of our history not only the duty of toleration, but also that its completion lies in the higher duty of seeking increasing cooperation and fellowship between the Christian Churches. For that very reason, we hate controversy the more, and we hate attacking another Christian body as much as many Roman Catholics deplore the constant attacks of their own Church upon ours. But attacks do call for occasional answers. A number of useful books of this sort have been published recently: and in this new booklet out people will find a reply, brief but effective, courteous and quickly read, and cheap, to some of the arguments of Roman Catholic propaganda. It is the desire of the authors, as of all of us, that this booklet may encourage the search for a better understanding with the Church of Rome, evidences of which, happily, in some other ways are not lacking.
