We profess in the Greed that the Holy Spirit has spoken through the prophets. This living voice which spoke through out the long history of Israel in now sillet and only the dead letter remains buried in a book, more precisely in the second part of the Old Testament scriptural canon. To pursue the metaphor, only the dry bones remain, since what we have is only a selection, edited over and over again, of what these Spirit-possessed men once said.
