In response to requests from Catholics of my diocese, I have set down in order the many events that happened to me in the Archdiocese of Canton (Guangzhou) during the years 1951 to 1981 so that all the Catholics may understand the changes that took place in the Diocese and what I went through during those years and the various difficult situations that occurred.
