By Oath Consigned: A Reinterpretation of the Covenant Signs of Circumcision and Baptism
The influence of the research of Korosec and Mendenhall into the relation between the Hittite suzerainty treaties and the Biblical covenants is reflected in this study based on Deuteronomy. Part I of the book investigates the assertions that the so- so-called Decalog of the Mosaic covenant rather than a mere catalog of statutes, and that the structure of Deuteronomy reflects in general the pattern of the ancient Near Eastern suzerainty treaties.
