The Christian has a mission to break down the barriers to human communication in a technical, secular age, and to assist in the cultural, moral and spiritual development of people, as well as in their socio-economic betterment. In the words of the Second Vatican Council, 'missionary activity is closely bound up with human nature itself and with its aspirations.'
