The book is derected primarily towards evangelical Christians and is a plea to those who share. Dr. Langley's biblical presuppositions to re-examine their attitudes to the ministry and place of women in the light of the teaching of Scripture and the chequered experience of the Christian Church. It should not be surprising that occasionally a touch of passioan shows through, for this is written not with the detachment of a sociological survey but the commitment of a beliver grappling with issues of truth.
