A brief glance at the table of contents indicates that there is an initial concentration on three biblical themes-sin, the mercy of God and conversion. These themes form the structural basis for a theology of the sacrament and for a celebration of the sacrament. They lie at the heart of the biblical revelation and furnish the fundamental ideas that are woven into the rite of penance!
