Communism and the Conscience of the West
Sheen treats communism, not as the enemy of free enterprise or capitalism, but as the enemy of the human soul. He suggests communism's greatest abuse is its amoral ideology, offered to adherents as a substitute for the Divine Law. Accordingly, Sheen sees the modern struggle between the individual and the collective, between capitalism and socialism, as outward symptoms of deeper questions about the human person and her temporal vocation.
