Leage's Roman Private Law: Founded On, the 'Institutes' of Gaius and Justinian
This edition seeks to maintain and even to extend this quality, whilst at the same time bringing the work up to date and meeting the criticism levelled at it. The advances in Roman law scholarship and the great heightening in the standards expected of students have necessitated many changes. In fact, some five-sixths of the text is completely the work of the editor, while the remainder has been exhaustively revised. The total length of the book has been almost doubled, the change in the format keeping the volume eithin manageable proportions.
