The same human experience may appear under many different symbols just as the same face may show itself under any number of masks. The concept of strength may be disguised in the figure of a lion or an eagle or a crocodile, or an arm or a spear or a stone or a mountain. To discern the inner content of meaning of each it is only necessary to look beneath the symbol-mask.
