The book first appeared in German two years ago and was received with unstinted praises by reviewers and liturgical scholars throughout Europe and America. American liturgists, realizing that a book such as this was urgently needed to clarity and coordinate the great mass of material on the mass-Liturgy so that it could be made readily available to readers of English, urged its translation.
