The Centre for Strategic and Internasional Studies (CSIS) is an outstanding Indonesian think tank. Established in 1971, for many years it was the only think tank in Indonesia well-known to the international community. More recently since the Reformasi Period beginning in 1998, there has been a flowering on think tanks acroos the nation. But CSIS has retained its prominent role within the family of Indonesian think tanks.
