Biblical scholarship has changed markedly in the latter half of the twentieth century and the first years of the twenty first century, largely because the world itself has changed, both in the United States and in Korea. Prior to the war, biblical scholarship was the realm of white Protestant males serving in universities, colleges and seminaries, located in western Europeans, and others were largely excluded from biblical scholarship and rendered dependent on the wisdom of Europ American, Protestant men.
