The present Volume II completes the revised edition of the collection Neutestamentliche Apokryphen in deutscher Ubersetzung, founded in 1904 by Edgar Hennecke. As with the first volume of the collection (NT Apo 5 I, 1987, 1990; ET 1991), this volume too had to be thoroughly revised and brought up to date with the present state of research. In the process, some texts could be taken over from the previous edition after revision and correction. The introduction have been largely written afresh. Those texts from the Nag Hammadi library which from their literary character belong in this collection have been included. For good counsel in this matter I thank H.M. Schenke.
