Biblical Revelation: The Foundation of Christian Theology
Modern Theology of almost every shade is in crisis. While there is no lack of religious verbosity, a sure word resonant with divine authority is scarcely to be heard. There is a famine... of hearing the words of the Lord (Amos 8:11). Contemporary theology has become relativistic and hesitating. The gravity of the crisis for the churches should not be underestimated. The foundations have been shaken. Men are told that all that exists is a human word colored by the conditions of language culture and environment. It is a word which is wholly immanent uttered by man from within the socially conditioned human situation. The transcendent norms of the biblical revelation have been relativized so that they no longer posses the power to provide an absolute standpoint in the midst of the flux.
