A Handbook Parish Worship
Archadeacon Perry's A Handbook of Parish Worship (now with a new section on services for special interest groups by Chris Newlands) is a detailed guide, planned to help anyone concerned with the ordering of the worship of the parish. There have been so many new services authorized for use in the Church of England during the past decade that it is difficult to remember what exactly is available; so the Archdeacon describes all the authorised rites, and gives full information on the possible liturgical choices, together with advice as to how to assess the merits and demerits of 1662 and the Alternative Service Book 1980, how to prepare congregations for liturgical change, and how to be aware of possibilities and pitfalls in what he calls, stage management and liturgical choreography.
