The Trinitarian Faith: The Evangelical Theology of the Ancient Catholic Church
In this significant work, Professor T.F. Torrance examines the importance of the Nicene Faith for Christian theology. By cutting across the divine between East and West and between Catholic and Evangelical, he also offers a unique contribution to our understanding of the doctrine of the Holy Trinity. The author provides an account of the principal themes of the Nicene Constantinopolitan Creed: the doctrine of God as Father and Creator; the doctrine of the Holy Spirit and of the Church; and the doctrine of the Holy Trinity. He allows the patristic theologians to speak for themselves and brings to light the inner theological connections which give coherent structure to the classical theology of the ancient Catholic Church as it was formulated during the fourth century.
