This Shorter Atlas of the Bible is an attempt to present in small compass a picture of the world in which the books of the Bible found their origin. It is not simply a shortened version of the Atlas of the Bible. The material has been designed anew, on the same principles, using maps, a large number of illustrations, and a short text to link them; but it has been designed to suit the smaller format and to provide as much as possible for as low a price as possible. Naturally, this has meant some limitations.
