The New Testament as Canon: An Introduction
However, the thesis advanced in that book, that the Bible must be interpreted above all in its canonical form, as the authoritative scripture of the Christian church, was clearly incomplete without a companion study of the New Testament. Professor Childs has devoted the past five years to precisely this, and the fruits of his work appear in the present book. It is an Introduction to the New Testament, not a biblical theology, nor does it attempt to treat in detail questions involving the relationship of the two Testaments. However, it does not cover precisely the same ground as existing Introductions, nor is it intended to replace them.
