The Logic of Imperialism
Szymanski's provocative text is the first to systematically compare world systems theory and classical Leninist philosophy. Drawing on statistical data from government and corporate sectors, The Logic Imperialism provides a coherent framework for analyzing both theoretical and methodology issues important to understanding imperialism. Szymanski reviews and interprets such issues as a relation between core and periphery, colonialism and neo-colonialism, modes of production, movement of international capital, the idea of an aristocracy of labor, economic developments in the Third World and inter-imperialism rivalry. He then evaluates the contributions of other scholars including Luxemburg, Mao, Trotsky, Baran, Sweezy and Fanon to the continuing debate on imperialism.
