The Homosexual Question: An Attempt to Understanding an Issue of Increasing Urgency Within a Christian Perspective
A leading French priest, doctor, and psychiatrist faces squarely and compassionately an issue of increasing urgency to pastors, counsellors, and laypeople today in the homosexual question. Based on a personal knowledge of homosexuals gained in his counselling practice, the author seeks neither to condemn nor condone, but to better understand. Dr. Oraison emphasizes the full meaning of human sexuality as the joy us acceptance of the difference between maleness and femaleness. Homosexuality, he argues, cannot be understood and should not be treated as an illness. With many examples from his practice Oraison demonstrates just how diverse and unique each case is. He suggests a helping process that attempts to understand the homosexual as an individual and proceeds to aid him or her in achieving a rewarding life.
