It is vital for the life of the Church and of the ordinary Christian to be able to turn to the book of Acts as substantially the true story of our origins, of how the faith we profess was first proclaimed, of how the first Christians viewed the role of the Church in the world, how they lived and worshipped, how they organized their community life, how they preserved their sense of belonging to the same body.
