Cross-Cultural Mission: Problems and Prospects
We are surely convinced that missionaries are expected to be bridges connecting cultures and religions. It, however, sounds quite evocative. Cross-cultural mission brings us to an awareness of the need for a deep love and relationship in the cultural lives of the people. Cross-cultural community gives witness of justice and equality scross all barriers of cultures, languages and other distinctions. Cross-cultural mission brings forth family spirit in the society so that one feels at home in any part of the world wherever Divine Word Missionaries work. In this way one becomes a good-finder in the other before one becomes a God-finder in others. in so-doing, every missionary is actually participating in God's mission and in His salvific action.
