The present collection of George MacRae articles does not represent the whole man, any more than they represent all that he did. Practically every item on his bibliography was undertaken is response to a request to deal with some topic of concern, to make a contribution to some scholarly gathering, or to honor a fellow scholar. Since many of the articles are not easy to find, this volume tries to make available a sample of their author's range of interests and technical skill.
