This monograph is very rich and deals with the major areas which have occupied Chilton's time over the past ten years: how the Isaiah Targum allows researchers and ordinary readers of the Gospels to understand more readily the preaching of Jesus of Nazareth. To those concerns Chilton has added a further area, namely, how Jesus fulfillment use of the Old Testament may inform Christian faith and preaching today.
