A New Introduction to Moral Theology
This book was first conceived when I was working as a parish priest in the diocese of Ottawa, Canada. The problems of everyday Christian living raise a great many moral questions, and it is important that intelligent Christian people should be able to think about them coherently and constructively. Some treatment of the subject matter of moral theology could serve to help them in this task. Moral theology does not lak detractors, especially in the Protestant traditions. The opening chapter has therefore been devoted to examining some of the objections brought against moral theology as a legitimate past of Christian study. Exponents of moral theology, however, cannot merely sit back and behave as though the traditional way of dealing with it has been unaffected by recent thought.
