AKATIGA is a research and social analysis institute activitely carrying out a variety of research and training activities, publishing, lobbying on development policy and assisting in the extension of mutually beneficial networks. In researching the development phenomenon and the problem of poverty faced by the weaker group in Indonesian society, AKATIGA focuses on the following problems: (1) Labour and industrial relations; (2) The dynamic of small business in the context of development of the people's economy. Imbalances in the distribution of major community resources especially land, as well as environmental disputes, disparities in interegional growth (rural and urban), and the problem of pockets of poverty.
