The purpose of Basic Public Speaking is to introduce to you the fundamentals of effective public communication. Although the communication process is complex, this book divides public speaking into several manageable content areas, such as choosing a purpose for your speech, then, within each content area, I identify several specific objectives to be accomplished after reading and practicing the principles advocated in the chapter are identified.
