Zechariah 9-14 and Malachi: A Commentary
This new commentary is a continuation of Haggai and Zechariah 1-8, by the same author, already published in the Old Testament Library, though the issues which need to be discussed are of course very different. In fact these last ten chapters of the Old Testament are the most difficult of its texts for the interpreter. Since the earliest manuscripts did not contain book title, originally these chapters would not have appreared as separate books, and it is form this perspective that the commentary treats them. An introduction discusses the material, its historical context and the present text; the body of the commentary takes the usual form of a new translation, notes and extended comment, section by section.
