We Shall Overcome (Vol.III)
The fifty-two articles contained in these three volumes comprise a very wide ranging and very high quality set if analyses concerning the southern black freedom struggle of the 1950s and 1960s. In many instances these articles in their original form have been little cited or hard to obtain, but their breadth of coverage ranging chronologically from two early overview analyses by August Meier and Elliott Rudwick and Charles Smith and Lewis Killian's important 1958 study of the under appreciated Tallahassee (Fla) bus boycott, to Richard Lentz's valuable analysis of press coverage of the 1968 Memphis sanitation strike offers many valuable contribution to the historiography of the southern civil rights struggle.
