Ezekiel
The book of Ezekiel stands at the turning-point of classical Hebrew prophecy and emerging Judaism. Fifty years ago, most scholars agreed that the book was a unity; now, however, it is held to be the product of a long and complicated tradition. The Present work is a fresh attempt to understand the tradition, written in a style that will appeal to laymen as well as ministers of religion. It examines Ezekiel from the standpoint of From Criticism and Tradition-History analysis. In addition, it attempts to recover the original words of the prophet by principles of literary analysis that are explained in the Introduction.
